Kevin's B-Day (the real one this time)

For his birthday dinner all Kevin asked for was mashed potatoes. So after a yummy "Sunday" type roast beef dinner he opened gifts from both families and then we did i-pod face-time with his Mom and Sister in Korea. While we sang Happy Birthday to Kevin in English, his family sang to him in Korean. It was so cool. Then they were able to watch him blow out his candles all the way from the other side of the world.

It was fun to be able to share Kevin's birthday with his Korean Family.
Happy 14th Birthday Kev!

Happy Birthday Kevin!

We celebrated Kevin's Birthday on Saturday with a party at Get Air Trampoline Park. Tons of Fun!!!

A sledding we will go!

We spent the afternoon on Soldier Hollow's tube hill in Midway UT.
We had a really great time!

Jake, Alex and Kevin waiting in line.
At this resort you are pulled up the hill while sitting on your tube. It's about a 5 min ride up. Then you get to enjoy the FAST ride down the mountain.

Here is how they drag you up the hill.
Alex is on the yellow tube throwing a snowball at Jake behind him.

Mark and McKay heading up for another run.

Kevin and Mark at the end of a run.

Jake and Alex coming down.

McKay and Mark speeding by - gotta love a sport telephoto lens to catch the action!

Kevin loved it!

McKay could have stayed all day!

Everybody had a great time.

Yes, I (Heidi) actually went down the hill quite a bit - even in a train with all of these guys - btw - too fast for me. I preferred sliding alone. More my speed - but still fast. It was fun.
Sorry - no photo's of me! I took a break from the fun to take some pictures.

Great way to spend an afternoon with the boys!

Is it really only February?

Another week without snow. Hey,  I'm not complaining - this global warming thing is working in our favor this winter. I'm just hoping winter doesn't find us late and snow until the 4th of July! Not only is there no snow - many days have been above normal temperatures. Here are the boys on Saturday playing outside with no jackets or anything. (I even had bare feet as I ran out to snap the picture) Not your typical February, but loving every warm minute of it.

Even the daffodils Mom and I planted in the fall think it's spring!

We do have some lingering snow in the shade from the mini storm 2 weeks ago.

Happy February!

Looking for snow

We haven't had much snow around here
this winter and the boys really wanted
to go sledding - so Mark took them on a
drive to find snow and to see the
Elk at Hardware Ranch.

Here's Brigham City - no snow here - keep driving, but Alex got a shot of the new temple there.

Surely Hardware Ranch will have snow - it's up north near Logan. Nope, not much snow - but saw some Elk. (Hardware Ranch is an Elk Refuge that we always went to with my Dad every winter)

Found some snow - or should we say Ice!

Kevin LOVES snow activities. Skating, sledding, skiing, building snow forts. The only thing he has been able to do much of this year is ice skating indoors.

Jake and Kevin racing. Jake in the lead.

Kevin - smile on his face and his hair blowing as he races down the icy hill.

Here's Mark coming down the bumpy ice hill.

Alex and Jake after a crash. We should have taken a picture of the big scrape on Jake's face. I think Alex won that race.

Fun Saturday for the boys!

Heading South to find some Sunshine

Every Year we go to a soccer tournament in the winter with Alex's team. Usually Mesquite, Nevada or St George. This year was in Mesquite in January. We had wonderful 60 degree weather and plenty of sunshine.
It's so nice to find warm sunshine in January!
Go Wasatch Fury!

~ Lauren and Jake stayed home with school and work obligations :(

Alex - Gooooaaaal! (blue player on the left)
They won 3 games but lost 1. Fun weekend despite the tough loss!

Between games on Saturday we headed up to St George for some non soccer fun. Fiesta Fun is a favorite when we are in St George. Mini-golf, go-carts and arcade games.

I say "smile boys" and this is what I get...

McKay racing around the track.
Kevin leading the pack!

After Fiesta Fun we grabbed sandwiches and stopped in the canyon on the drive back to Mesquite (about 35 minutes). We had a nice picnic and did a little hiking/exploring.
(sorry - forgot the camera on the hike)
