Mr Creepy

Jake was Monsieur D'arque in Bountiful High School's Beauty and the Beast. For those of you who are wondering who that is... he is the head of the asylum that Gaston tries to take Belle's father to. Anyway, we just call him the creepy guy. Jake has a great time with the drama dept.at the school. He did a really great job. Who knew our goofy Jake could be so creepy. He had a solo part in a song with Gaston - wow - proud parents. So fun to watch. Great job Jake!!!!

Jake with his buddy after the show. Good look for the play - but I prefer the clean cut Jake. Don't you agree?
Now there's my Jake. it occurred to me he will turn 18 this summer! How does that happen? Stop the clock!

Hey - Who's that kid in all your pictures?

Most of you know and have met Kevin but for those of who are wondering if we've adopted, the answer is no. (well, sorta)
He definitely feels part of our family, but he's not ours, we are just borrowing him from his family in Korea. So meet Kevin (JongHyuk Lee)....

Kevin is a 13 yr old 7th grade student from Korea that has come to live with us during the school year to improve his English skills and help him qualify for an international high school back home. Kevin has been visiting us in the summers for a few years now and so when we were asked to host him for the school year we gladly accepted. He is a hard worker, English came quickly to him - but speaking English in Science class, Math story problems, etc has been challenging for him. But he is doing very well and does most of his homework on his own now. Here is a photo of where you can find him everyday after school - the kitchen counter doing homework.
He also does some Korean homework out of workbooks to keep him from forgetting Korean.
He is a fun, loving, helpful, silly and good boy. We love having him in our family. He keeps us laughing. He will be here for his 8th grade school year too after going home for the summer to be with his Korean Family.
Here are some photo's of Kevin when he is not in school or doing homework.
His first Halloween in America and he wanted to be an old man prisoner.
Loves playing and usually beating the boys in pool.

Loves the snow. Loves to build snow forts.

Loves swimming.
He and McKay are good buddies.
Kevin is definitely part of our family and we love having him here.

A Bountiful Christmas - so blessed!

I loved having Christmas on Sunday this year. My family doesn't usually look this sharp on Christmas afternoon! I think we should take the sacrament on Christmas every year. It was a lovely day.
Yes, these are my three oldest in Footie Jammies. Can you believe they make them grown-up sized? Goofy kids!
Alex added this new soccer shirt to his growing collection of soccer shirts. His favorite wardrobe item.
The only thing Jake asked for Santa this year was a unicycle. Santa came through. He even let Jake assemble it himself for a little more fun. Can't you just picture him riding this down the street in those jammies? Call the looney truck!
McKay struck a deal with Santa to help him get the Ipod touch he has been saving for all year.
Here is Kevin with his gifts. One of his favorites was the monkey in his hand. You pull it's tail and it flies through the air screaming like a monkey.
Here is Lauren with her stash. She picked out most of her gifts but was surprised with a cake decorating kit and an Ihome speaker thing. A few days after Christmas she make tons of cupcakes to try-out the decorating stuff. Yum.
